MUSC publishes clinic impact report
In June 2019, MUSC CARES Clinic began operating at The Navigation Center’s 529 Meeting Street clinic. MUSC’s CARES Clinic medical director, Cristin Adams, DO, and three other providers in the Department of Family Medicine at MUSC provided telehealth services while resident physicians in the family medicine training program rotated weekly to provide in-person care. Five medical students served as board members to coordinate the operations of the clinic – from volunteer training to fundraising to patient follow-up. These busy students spent countless hours problem solving to make sure the clinic ran smoothly and our patients were cared for with dignity. Multiple staff members at The Navigation Center worked tirelessly to coordinate clinic efforts, from finding transportation to picking up prescriptions for their clients.
