The Navigation Center Named One of 67 Recipients of Roper St. Francis Healthcare Community Investment Fund
Charleston, SC — April 2026 — The Navigation Center has been selected as one of 67 nonprofit organizations to receive funding through the Roper St. Francis Healthcare Community Investment Fund, a program designed to strengthen community health and well-being across the Lowcountry.
This year, Roper St. Francis Healthcare significantly expanded its investment, awarding a total of $452,500 in grants to organizations serving Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. The Community Investment Fund supports initiatives that address priority health needs identified in the region’s Community Health Needs Assessment, with a focus on improving access to care and advancing overall well-being.
The Navigation Center’s inclusion in this year’s cohort reflects its ongoing commitment to walk alongside people in crisis and help build pathways toward long-term stability and hope. By connecting guests to housing resources, healthcare, and supportive services, The Navigation Center works to address both immediate needs and lasting well-being which contributes directly to healthier individuals and a stronger community.
“Being selected as a recipient of the Community Investment Fund is both an honor and an affirmation of the work happening every day at The Navigation Center,” said Marie Elana Roland, Founder and Executive Director.
Community Investment Funds are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations that meet specific criteria, including 501(c)(3) status and alignment with prioritized health needs. Funded programs must focus on direct services with a clear connection to health and wellness, ensuring resources are invested where they can make the greatest impact.
“We are grateful to Roper St. Francis Healthcare for their continued commitment to organizations working on the front lines of community health,” said Roland. “Partnerships like this make it possible to do meaningful, sustainable work that changes lives.”
