Volunteers are essential for us to fulfill our mission. We are always trying to grow our volunteer base and appreciate any time they are able and willing to spend with us.

At this time, we are looking for volunteers (18 years or older) for the following roles. Once a volunteer waiver is completed and you have completed a training day, you may sign up in advance for volunteer roles throughout the week. Please send completed waivers to mer@thenavigationcenter.org. Be sure to add the roles you are interested in.

Our volunteers help in a variety of ways…

• Floaters (tuesday - thursday 9:00-2:00): assist the front desk by getting basic needs for incoming clients (i.e. clothing, food, mail pick up, etc.)

• Front Desk (tuesday - thursday 9:00-2:00): make sure all appointments and walk-ins sign in, utilize the client tracking spreadsheet to alert staff when appointments have arrived, track services

• Admin Support (tuesday - thursday 9:00-2:00): assist clients with SNAP/Food Stamp sign ups, ABC Voucher sign ups, phone applications; research housing availability in the area

• Kitchen Support (flexible): Make sandwiches/lunches for the day/week; organize and clean the food pantry and fridge

• Donation Support (flexible): organize the clothing closet and other donations

• Event Volunteers: be added to our event volunteer list and we will reach out when we have an upcoming community event!
